These are topics that have become very important in my life in recent months. I am becoming more aware of the distinctions in my own life between religion and spirituality; between beliefs and knowledge; and between love and fear. For me religion is a lot like belief and also like fear: all are external. Spirituality, Knowledge and Love are all internal and don't need to be explained or understood or analyzed, they simply need to be accepted. And for many of us that is the most difficult part. It's very simple, just not easy since we've spent so many years putting up the roadblocks to that which is already accessible if we would just yield. <BR/><BR/>I'm learning that I have a direct connection to God and as I wake up, I notice more and more that questioning is my path to getting beyond the questions to the knowing that I've had all along. One may argue that there is a spiritual uprising in the media, with religious-themed films and shows, as well as forums and video feeds on the internet. Yet, the common mans desire in context of spirituality is based solely on an selfish need for peace; and such a need would only arise when other, more material needs of man are not met. Thus, spirituality and God takes the backseat. This is not "wrong", but is simply the nature of man.<BR/><BR/>I do not label myself as a "spiritual person" as such, but I do make a great deal of effort to reflect upon things and adhere to the principles of the Path I follow. <BR/><BR/>I think we should all try to explore our faiths a little more, whatever religion or teachings we follow. There is so much more to learn.
